What you cannot miss in July!

What you cannot miss in July!

Hey readers,

Today, we present what you cannot miss in July! Our agenda this month is full of festivals and food, music and movies. We’ve been waiting for summer all year long and, now that it’s here, we’re going to take full advantage of this time. We don’t want to miss out on any of the fun events and popular activities during the summer, and we hope you join in with us!

Before we can talk about all the great things going on this month, we have to talk about life in Barcelona. If you plan to live in the city, you definitely need to define your budget. With this in mind, you can decide on which city you want to live in, followed by exactly which neighbourhood should be your new home away from home. If you’re looking for an accommodation in the city, consider living in a shared flat! These are the best option for students and young workers because they can help you make friends in the city and lower your cost of living. Once you’ve figured out your budget, you can start enjoying the city and all it has to offer. Let’s take a look at what’s happening in July.

Events and More

25 June to 31 July - Grec Festival de Barcelona: The 43rd year of this international festival celebrates theatre, music, dance, and circus with a month full of activities and events. Different activities are held daily ranging from interactive street art to huge concerts, so pay close attention and don’t miss out on anything!

12 - 15 July: Festa Major de Raval - For four days, the neighbourhood of Raval is transformed. People dance to music in the streets, climb each other forming castellers or human towers, perform theatre shows, act in gigantes parades, and compete in sports competitions. When you get hungry, grab some traditional street food for a quick snack before heading back into the fun.

18 - 20 July: Sónar - A look at modern art, design, and music, this festival is a must-attend event for anyone that is into electronic music, modern media technology or contemporary art. This three-day event is broken into Sónar by Day and Sónar by Night. By day, the event is an exploratory look at exhibitions and multimedia art while DJs play in the background. By night, concerts are the main attraction.

July Favourites

To eat

  • Trópico - A beautiful brunch restaurant in the Raval neighbourhood offering a variety of international options as well as gluten-free and vegetarian choices. This is a great place to try flavors from around the world. Don’t worry if you’re not a brunch person, they offer a unique dinner menu too!

To watch

  • Casa de Papel: Season 3 of this wild show premieres on Netflix on July 19, so you still have a little time to binge watch the first 2 seasons and catch up! Called “Money Heist” in English, this show will always have you on the edge of your seat.

To read
